Japanese Chilled Tuna and Tomato Pasta Recipe
Japanese Chilled Tuna and Tomato Pasta Recipe is easy to make and perfect to eat on a hot summer day. Chilled pasta dishes are refreshing in the summer time. While chilled pasta dishes are not common in the USA, they are often served in Japanese restaurants and at home. In this recipe, I used tuna and tomatoes to create a chilled pasta dish. This recipe also uses common Japanese seasonings, such as soy sauce and dashi to create an authentic Japanese flavor. If you have never had a chilled pasta dish, I highly recommend trying this dish. I’m certain that you will fall in love with chilled pasta recipes, and be inspired to create other types of chilled pasta dishes, such as spicy hamburger somen, or regular somen.
Tips for Making Japanese Chilled Tuna and Tomato Pasta Recipe
- While I made this dish with tuna and tomatoes, this dish can be made with other fresh summer vegetables. I like to add cucumbers! You can also make a seafood variety with squid and shrimp. Try adding chicken ham for a different version.
- This dish is best eaten right after cooking. The pasta can become hard if refrigerated overnight.
- This dish can be served hot, but the tomatoes will become soft. I highly recommend eating this dish chilled rather than hot. It really is prefect for a hot summer day.
- You can make this with regular spaghetti as well, but I recommend the thin spaghetti because it is easier to eat.
