Tips for Making Japanese Chilled Tuna and Tomato Pasta Recipe

  • While I made this dish with tuna and tomatoes, this dish can be made with other fresh summer vegetables. I like to add cucumbers! You can also make a seafood variety with squid and shrimp. Try adding chicken ham for a different version.
  • This dish is best eaten right after cooking. The pasta can become hard if refrigerated overnight.
  • This dish can be served hot, but the tomatoes will become soft. I highly recommend eating this dish chilled rather than hot. It really is prefect for a hot summer day.
  • You can make this with regular spaghetti as well, but I recommend the thin spaghetti because it is easier to eat.

If you liked this recipe, I recommend trying Pickled Plum’s version as well. She adds nori (seaweed sheets) and rice vinegar to create a different flavor for a similar chilled pasta dish.
