Japanese Spare Ribs Recipe
Are you a fan of spare ribs? I sure am. I especially like Japanese spare ribs. In this Japanese Spare Ribs Recipe, you will learn how to make unbelievably delicious spare ribs using Japanese flavorings. The marinade is made from soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, onions, garlic, and honey. Once you have tried this recipe, you might not go back to your other rib recipes. I highly encourage you to try this recipe.
The ribs are specially cut, and soaked in the marinade for over 3 hours. We grilled the ribs, but they can also be cooked on the stove top if you don’t have access to a grill.
Tips for Making Japanese Spare Ribs Recipe
- If you prefer baby back ribs instead of spare ribs. The same marinade can be used for both. I have also used this marinade to make baby back ribs. You’ll notice that I recommend marinating 1 hour for the smaller ribs. These spare ribs are much longer, which is why I recommend a longer marinating time.
- I recommend marinating the ribs overnight if you can. It will allow the flavor to infuse deeper into the ribs. But, even if you only wait 3 hours to marinate, the ribs are delicious.
- You can add a dash of your favorite hot sauce to the marinade if you prefer a slightly spicier sauce.
- The ribs can be frozen in the marinade for a later date. I like to prepare many different types of food for busy weekday nights and freeze them. Then I can simply defrost the ribs and grill them or cook them on the stove top later.
