I have had ribs. Lots of kinds of ribs. Southern style ribs, fall-off the bone juicy ribs, and ribs drenched in barbecue sauce. Out of all the different style of ribs, these Asian style ribs have quickly become my favorite. They are so easy to make and taste amazing. The marinade is simple and mainly consists of garlic, soy sauce, salt, and honey. Soaking the meat in the marinade for over 1 hour allows it to be infused with flavor. Searing the meat traps the flavor and baking allow the meat to fully cook. We included a 5-minute video at the end of the recipe that shows step by step how to make these ribs. Anyone can make Japanese style pork ribs!

Tips on How to Make Japanese Style Asian Pork Ribs Recipe
- If stored in the freezer for a later date, these can be removed in the morning, thawed throughout the day and cooked for dinner.
- If you prefer a slightly spicier sauce, you can add a dash of your favorite hot sauce to the marinade.
Japanese Style Asian Pork Rib Recipe
Equipment
- fry pan
- Baking pan or stone
- Oven
- Stove
Ingredients
- 600 grams pork ribs (~1.5 pounds)
- 2 tsp grated garlic
- 3 tbsp cooking alcohol
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp honey
Instructions
- Prepare a large Ziploc bag for the ribs and the marinade
- Add 600 grams (~1.5 lbs) or ribs into the bag
- Add grated garlic, cooking alcohol, soy sauce, salt and honey into the same bag, mix well, and allow to marinate for at least 1 hour. (If you plan to eat on a different day, the ribs and marinade can be stored in the freezer until needed later)
- Heat a frying pan, remove the ribs from the bag and sear the ribs on both sides. (do not add the marinade into the pan, but add a small amount of oil if needed to sear the ribs)
- After searing the ribs, place them in a baking pan. Add the marinade on top of the ribs and bake for 10 minutes at 230°C (450°F)
- After they are finished baking, they are ready to eat! Enjoy!
